President Inaugurated the Indonesia Investment Authority Supervisory Board

Jakarta, AWN (27/01/21) Ministry of Finance – Based on Presidential Decree number 6/P of 2021, the President appointed the Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani Indrawati, as Chairman and Member of the Supervisory Board of the Indonesia Investment Authority (LPI). In the LPI Supervisory Board (Dewas) inauguration on Wednesday (27/01), the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, Erick Thohir as a member and three other members of the supervisory board from professional elements who would strengthen the independence of the LPI, namely Haryanto Sahari, Darwin Cyril Noerhadi, and Yozua Makes are also inaugurated.

In accordance with Government Regulation number 74 of 2020 concerning Indonesia Investment Authority, the Supervisory Board has the task of supervising the implementation of the LPI which is carried out by the board of directors. Launching the release delivered by the LPI, the Supervisory Board also had the duty to arrange the basic arrangements for the LPI management as the basis for the operational activities.

LPI is an institution that is given special authority in the context of managing central government investment as referred to in Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation. The existence of the LPI will make it easier and safer for investors to invest in Indonesia.

The inauguration of Supervisory Board from the government and professionals will encourage LPI to be a solid, credible and effective institution. The chosen Dewas is believed to have a global perspective and experience in handling international transactions which are very much needed considering the global scale of LPI’s business.(awn/fh)
